From Pancakes to Parades: Celebrating February Fun Around Kyle

February might be a short month, but there is no shortage of things to do in and around Kyle, Texas. With local events that bring families together, silly themed days that spark creativity, and cozy celebrations that feel just right during winter, there are plenty of ways to embrace the season. At Crosswinds, residents are perfectly placed to enjoy the best of Kyle’s community spirit while also creating meaningful traditions at home.

Local Events and Happenings

The City of Kyle keeps the February calendar full with family-friendly events designed to connect neighbors and celebrate the season. One of the most anticipated happenings this month is the Mardi Gras Festival at La Verde Park on February 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. This vibrant event features the New Orleans-style sounds of Big Wy’s Brass Band, festive beads and masks, and delicious bites from local food vendors. Families can stroll beneath the twinkle lights, enjoy the music, and experience the joy of Mardi Gras without leaving town.

Earlier in the month, Movie in the Park returns on February 13 with a special screening of La La Land at La Verde Park. Families can bring their own lawn chairs, pack snacks, and settle in for a cozy evening of cinema under the stars. These outdoor movie nights are a cherished part of life in Kyle and a perfect midweek treat.

For an experience that blends fun and education, Family Night Out takes place on February 20 at EVO Entertainment. This event includes interactive CPR and first aid instruction by the Kyle Fire Department, plus games and food for all ages. It is a great way to bond with your kids while learning valuable skills that could make a difference.

You can also swing by the Kyle Market Days Winter Market on February 10 at La Verde Park. Local artisans, small business owners, and food vendors will be on hand with handmade goods, unique finds, and delicious treats. It is a perfect opportunity to shop local and support Kyle’s growing business scene.

Celebrate at Home

If you prefer to stay in or add a personal twist to your celebrations, February is full of playful holidays that are easy to enjoy from the comfort of your Crosswinds home. Start with a pancake dinner night, where everyone in the family can create their own sweet or savory stack. Set up a toppings bar with strawberries, syrup, whipped cream, chocolate chips, and maybe even a few heart-shaped sprinkles in honor of Valentine’s Day. Pancakes are a crowd-pleaser and the perfect excuse to gather around the kitchen table.

You can also host an indoor family parade, complete with costumes, music, and silly dance moves. Mark off a route in your living room or hallway, hand out “awards” for creativity, and let each family member take a turn leading the way. It is a great way to shake off the winter blues and encourage movement on chilly days.

Take advantage of some quirky themed days too. National Pizza Day is February 9, and you can celebrate by letting everyone build their own mini pizza using English muffins, flatbreads, or dough from your local grocery store. Try out bold combinations, or keep it classic with cheese and pepperoni. If baking is more your style, National Muffin Day on February 20 is another reason to whip up something fun in the kitchen.

Tying in the Crosswinds Lifestyle

Crosswinds is designed to make everyday celebrations easy. With open-concept floorplans, large kitchens, and spacious backyards, residents have room to gather, cook, craft, and play. Whether you are hosting a pancake breakfast with friends, planning a group outing to a community event, or just watching a movie on the couch with your kids, Crosswinds supports a lifestyle where small moments become lasting memories.

And when you are ready to get outside, the neighborhood’s walking trails and parks are right around the corner. A weekend bike ride or a game of tag at the playground can easily become part of your family’s seasonal rhythm. February may still bring a chill to the air, but in Kyle, there are plenty of ways to stay warm with laughter, togetherness, and community connection.

Galentine’s Gatherings in Kyle: Host the Perfect Backyard Brunch

There’s something extra special about setting aside time to celebrate friendships in the month of February. While Valentine’s Day often steals the spotlight, Galentine’s Day has quickly become a cherished tradition for many. It’s all about honoring the incredible women in your life, and what better way to do that than with a cozy backyard brunch at home in Crosswinds? Whether you’re planning an intimate morning with a few close friends or a lively afternoon gathering with neighbors, this guide will help you host a memorable celebration without leaving the neighborhood.

Plan the Perfect Setup

One of the perks of living in Crosswinds is having a home and yard designed for relaxed entertaining. Start by setting the stage in your backyard with a mix of patio furniture, folding tables, or even picnic blankets layered with cushions for a casual yet charming atmosphere. Arrange seating so that everyone feels included in the conversation and add soft lighting to create a welcoming vibe. String lights draped along a fence or pergola, a few lanterns, or candles in glass jars instantly add warmth and style to your outdoor space.

Décor is where you can really bring out the Galentine’s theme. Think pink and red accents, fresh florals, and playful heart-shaped elements that feel festive but still laid back. A table runner made from kraft paper can double as a message board where guests write notes of appreciation to one another. Add in a few vases of locally sourced flowers or simple greenery for an effortless, elegant look that feels right at home in your Crosswinds backyard.

Menu Ideas for a Sweet Start

Brunch is the perfect meal to build around for a Galentine’s celebration, especially if you want something easy to prep that still feels thoughtful. Heart-shaped waffles are always a hit, especially when paired with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of maple syrup. You can also offer a build-your-own yogurt bar with toppings like granola, coconut flakes, honey, and sliced fruit so that everyone can create their favorite combination.

Don’t forget beverages. Sparkling mocktails with citrus slices or a chilled pitcher of mimosas adds a celebratory touch without requiring much setup. For a local twist, consider stopping by a nearby Kyle bakery the day before to grab fresh pastries or baked goodies that make serving a breeze. Supporting small businesses while adding to your table spread is a win for everyone.

Activities and Entertainment for the Group

A Galentine’s gathering is about more than just food and drinks. It’s a chance to connect, laugh, and share time together. Set up a small station for guests to make homemade Valentine’s cards using craft paper, stamps, stickers, and markers. It’s a fun way to reminisce, especially if the cards are shared with one another or with neighbors in the community.

You can also plan a few simple games or conversation starters centered around friendship, memories, or favorite traditions. If you have outdoor speakers or a Bluetooth setup, play a curated playlist in the background with feel-good music to keep the energy relaxed and uplifting. Whether it’s a group game, a storytelling circle, or simply chatting over coffee, it’s these little details that make the event feel personal and meaningful.

Crosswinds: The Ideal Place to Host

Homes in Crosswinds are made with connection in mind. From spacious patios to open-concept kitchens that flow easily into backyard spaces, the layout of your home makes entertaining simple and enjoyable. Hosting a Galentine’s brunch is the kind of gathering that becomes a tradition, especially when you have the space and community to support it. Many residents love opening their homes for small get-togethers, and it is easy to see why when neighbors feel like extended family.

For those new to the neighborhood, a Galentine’s event can even be a great way to make connections. Invite a few people down the street or suggest a rotating brunch tradition among friends. At Crosswinds, building friendships and celebrating life’s small joys is just part of the lifestyle.

Celebrate the Season with Style

There’s no need to book a reservation or drive across town to celebrate the season of love. With a little planning and a lot of heart, your backyard can become the perfect spot for a Galentine’s brunch that leaves everyone smiling. Whether it’s your first celebration or a new tradition you look forward to each year, hosting in your own home makes it all the more meaningful.

If you’re dreaming of a home that’s perfect for hosting friends and enjoying the good moments in life, Crosswinds might be the place for you. Contact us today to learn more about available homes and discover what makes this Kyle community so special.

Crosswinds Kids: Fun Indoor Science Experiments for Cold Weather Days

Cold weather in Central Texas might mean fewer hours spent at the park or on the trails, but it also opens the door to a new kind of family fun. At Crosswinds, where homes are thoughtfully designed with families in mind, it’s easy to turn indoor spaces into areas of creativity, exploration, and learning. If your little ones are full of energy and curiosity, winter break or chilly weekends are a great time to transform your home into your very own science lab.

Fun Experiments You Can Do Without the Mess

You do not need fancy equipment or special supplies to bring science to life. Some of the best experiments use simple items found right in your kitchen. One of the most popular options for young children is the classic baking soda and vinegar volcano. This activity not only creates excitement with its fizzing and bubbling, but it also introduces children to chemical reactions in a way that feels like magic.

Another fun and educational experiment is growing salt crystals. All it takes is warm water, salt, a glass, and a piece of string. Over the course of a few days, kids can watch as salt slowly forms sparkling crystals on the string, helping them develop patience while learning about evaporation and molecular structure.

For a quick afternoon project, invisible ink made with lemon juice is always a hit. Children can write secret messages using cotton swabs dipped in lemon juice. After the paper dries, holding it gently over a lamp will reveal the hidden writing. It is a perfect way to introduce ideas about heat, oxidation, and chemical changes in a safe and exciting way.

Make It a Family Affair

Science is more fun when everyone gets involved. Siblings can team up to try new experiments, and parents can help supervise or explain some of the concepts behind what they see happening. Watching vinegar react with baking soda or seeing a hidden message appear from lemon juice can spark all kinds of curious questions. Even if you do not have all the answers right away, looking up the explanations together can be part of the fun.

These types of projects are great for bonding as a family, especially when the weather makes outdoor activities a little less appealing. They create memorable moments and give kids a sense of accomplishment as they explore, test ideas, and see real results.

Learning Through Play and Hands-On Exploration

These activities do more than just keep children occupied. They help build critical thinking skills and introduce scientific vocabulary in a relaxed setting. As kids observe changes, make predictions, and draw conclusions, they are building early foundations in problem-solving and observation. It is a reminder that learning does not have to be limited to a classroom. It can happen right at home when curiosity is encouraged and space is available for experimentation.

Because these activities feel more like play than schoolwork, children are more likely to engage, ask questions, and remember what they learned. They are having fun, getting their hands dirty, and discovering how the world works in ways that feel exciting and natural.

Create a Space for Science at Home

One of the many perks of living in a Crosswinds home is having room to spread out and tailor your space to your family’s needs. Whether you have a breakfast nook, a playroom, or just a stretch of kitchen counter, it is easy to set up a small science corner where kids can return again and again for new experiments.

Start by organizing materials in clear bins or trays. Keep items like baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, cotton swabs, string, and measuring cups on hand. Add a notebook or drawing pad where your kids can record their observations or draw what they see. You might even display their creations or make a small chart of results to hang nearby. A tray or washable mat can help contain spills and make cleanup easier, and using a specific area helps kids know when it is time to switch from play to discovery.

Decorating the space with colorful posters or a homemade “science lab” sign adds a playful touch that makes kids feel like real scientists. The key is to make it accessible, organized, and welcoming enough that your children will want to return to it again and again.

Built for Family Living and Big Ideas

Crosswinds offers more than just a place to live. It offers families room to grow, spaces to play, and homes that adapt to all stages of life. From hosting a holiday gathering to experimenting with baking soda and vinegar, every day brings an opportunity to make memories.

Even when temperatures drop and outdoor plans are put on hold, Crosswinds homes provide the perfect backdrop for indoor fun and learning. Whether you are chasing volcano eruptions in the kitchen or watching salt crystals grow on your windowsill, there is no shortage of creativity to explore.

New Year, New Home: Benefits of Buying in the New Year

The warm and sunny weather compounded with the end of a school year tends to make summer the busiest season for potential home buyers – but don’t discount buying a home in the winter. Buying a home at the start of the new year can have major advantages.

Less Buyer Competition

While fewer homes hit the sales market in the winter season, the competition for those homes is significantly less than in the summer. There are a few reasons for this. Many families don’t want to uproot their children from their schools mid-year. People also tend to stay inside more and don’t want the hassle of moving during the coldest months of the year.

This can work to a buyer’s advantage as it means less possibility of a bidding war. With fewer home buyers, sellers may also be more inclined to take a lower offer in order to finalize the sale of a home.

Better Prices

Oftentimes, sellers who list their homes during the winter months rather than during the busier summer season are very motivated to sell. Whether the listing is due to a job change or financial reasons, this can work to the buyer’s advantage as the seller may be more flexible on the price because of the smaller buyer market.

Similarly, if a home that was on the market during the summer or fall months still hasn’t sold by the time winter rolls around, it’s very likely the sellers will be highly motivated to sell and drop the price.

Realistic Conditions

Winter weather elements can be especially harsh on homes. This can work to a buyer’s advantage, however, as it allows them to put a potential home through its paces and see how it handles cold and wet winter weather conditions.

Drafty windows and doors will give themselves away during winter months, whereas during the spring and summer, this will be less apparent. If, during a January home visit, the potential home is warm, toasty, and dry, then you can bet it will stay cool during the hot summer months as well.

Faster Closing Times

With fewer transactions taking place during the winter months, mortgage companies have lighter workloads. This means that you’re getting packed up, and moved into your new home that much faster. A quicker closing time will make moving less stressful, particularly if you have children who are in school.

Amenities That Make Crosswinds Shine

Everyone wants to enjoy the place they live. It’s this simple yet all-important idea that the developers behind Crosswinds took to heart when designing the master-planned community.

In addition to stunning homes designed by today’s top builders, the amenities offered in Crosswinds are a big selling point for many residents when choosing where to buy.

Cool Down on Hot Summer Days

As every Texan knows, summers in the Hill Country can be incredibly hot. While there’s no shortage of fantastic swimming holes and rivers to float down in, sometimes you just want to stay close to home.

The pool and splash pad are two of the most popular community amenities during the summer months. The spacious pool is perfect for lounging on a pool float, while the nearby kiddie pool and splash pad are always a hit with the little ones. Surrounding the pool area are a number of umbrella shade covers, providing a welcome relief from the summer sun.

Get Active

The Crosswinds community was designed with features that will appeal to residents looking to get outside in nature and get active.

Residents can enjoy a morning jog or after-dinner stroll on the extensive trail system that weaves its way through the community. There are also basketball and pickleball courts for anyone looking to work in a little bit of cardio, along with some friendly competition.

Crosswinds’ four-legged residents will love heading to the dog park to burn off some energy. (The park also gives their owners a chance to catch up and chat and meet other members of the community.)

Unwind and Relax

Families with young children will want to take advantage of the playscape. It’s the perfect spot to allow the kiddos to meet new friends or simply have some fun after a long day at school.

The grilling and picnic areas are not to be missed and are ideal for enjoying a meal outside. They’re a particularly great way to cap off a day at the pool or cook up some grub on the grill before a fall football game.

Each of the resort-style amenities was carefully selected to appeal to a variety of lifestyles and reflect Crosswinds’ commitment to creating a community that’s more than simply a place to live. Whether it’s a relaxing day of hanging out by the pool or an early morning bike ride on the community trail system, the ever-expanding amenities are one of the features that make Crosswinds such an appealing place to call home.

Bite into Bliss: Best Burgers in Kyle, Texas

When it comes to a good bite, it’s hard to beat a solid burger. If you’re in the mood for a burger that won’t disappoint, check out these local burger joints.

Big Rob’s (15 min drive) – Some folks like sliders, while others want a burger that challenges the limits of the human jaw. If you’re in the latter camp, then this is the burger joint to visit. Big Rob’s does not skimp on the “big” part of the name and serves up burgers that customers often need a knife and fork to tackle.

The restaurant offers a range of burgers with names like El Jefe (a triple cheeseburger) and Rise N Shine (a half-pounder topped with a fried egg and bacon), along with patty melts, chicken sandwiches, and of course, baskets of tots and fries.

Sharks Burger (6 min drive) – We can’t confirm if Sharks Burger is in a battle with Big Rob’s for the biggest burgers in Kyle, but it wouldn’t surprise us. With burgers like the Great White (two patties and white cheddar cheese) and the Beyond Burger (Beyond Meat patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, on a brioche bun), this is a restaurant ready to take a bite out of any appetite.

While the burger joint is housed in the Valero gas station, don’t be put off by the location. Sharks Burger uses only high-quality ingredients, and based on customer reviews, it’s quickly becoming a local favorite.

Willies Grill & Ice House (7 min drive) This local spot is the perfect place to grab a few drinks with friends after work or swing by for some good grub on game day. It also has a menu that offers something for everyone with customer favorites like chicken fried steak, nachos, strawberry pecan salad – even gumbo.

Of course, we’d be remiss, not to mention the burgers. Willies has six different burgers on the menu, each weighing in at a hefty half-pound. Whether you opt for a turkey patty or beef, cheddar or Monterey jack cheese, bacon, or mushrooms, be sure to also order up the perfect sidekick – hand-breaded onion rings or fried pickles.

Mighty Fine Burgers (7 min drive) – Mighty Fine Burgers puts its money where its mouth is, using 100% fresh, all-natural Angus beef that is ground on-site and hand-formed right in front of the customer. The result is a burger that is everything a classic American burger should be – simple and delicious.

Mighty Fine Burgers come in two sizes, half and quarter pounds, and are served with lettuce, diced onion, tomatoes, and pickles. If you’re not in a burger mood (or are just super hungry), the menu also offers hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, and a fried avocado BLT! Finish the meal off with a hand-dipped milkshake and thank us later.

Flamin Burger (15 min drive) – This local burger joint keeps things simple, but that’s a good thing. Customers have three burger sizes to choose from: Inferno (single patty), Blazin (double patty), and Scorchin (triple patty). Customers say the burgers are “charred to perfection,” and an order of the zesty firecracker fries dipped in the Magic Sauce is the perfect way to round out the meal.

In a day and age where eating out is getting more and more expensive, kudos are due to Flamin Burger for keeping the single patty Inferno incredibly affordable at just $5. With such a cheap burger, don’t be surprised if you still have money left in your wallet to splurge on one of the shakes for dessert.

One of the best things about the Crosswinds community is its convenient access to so many great restaurants. If you’re looking for a new home, reach out to our team today.

Fall Favorites and Family Fun

One of the best things about fall is the festivals. There is no shortage of fall festivals to be enjoyed in the Texas Hill Country, and one of them can be found right down the road from Kyle at Sweet Eats Fruit Farm in nearby Georgetown, Texas.

Here’s the scoop on everything you need to know about the 2024 Central Texas Fall Festival

Where and When

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is a popular attraction in Georgetown, about an hour’s drive from Kyle. The farm is more than simply a place to pick and buy fresh fruit, though; it’s also a petting zoo and adventure destination, making it a great weekend destination for families.

Located at 14400 E State Hwy 29, the festival runs from September 21st – November 8th. You’ll need to plan your trip accordingly, though, because the festival and select events only happen on certain days and times.

Sept | Everyday | 9am – 6pm

October | Sun – Thursday | 9am-8pm

October | Fri & Sat |  9am-10pm

Early bird tickets start at $12.49 for guests ages 2+, and regular sale tickets are $24.95.

What to Expect

The Central Texas Fall Festival is sure to be a hit with kids, but it’s also a great option for a date, as there’s plenty to do and see.

The festival includes daily activities like a petting zoo, pony rides, wagon rides, apple cannons, and dozens more farm-related activities. There are even pig races and a fireworks show on Friday and Saturday nights in October.

A major highlight and one not to be missed is the corn maze and adjacent pumpkin patch. The corn maze covers 4.5 acres and is perfect for exploring or an impromptu game of hide-and-seek. This year’s maze was designed with a prehistoric dinosaur theme, and it’s one of the largest corn mazes in the state.

The pumpkin patch is also a popular spot for photo opportunities and includes over 40 varieties of pumpkins in different shapes, sizes, and colors. Kiddos will love searching for that perfect pumpkin that they can take home and carve or paint for free at the farm.

More Fun

From falconry shows with soaring and swooping birds of prey to Zoofari, where guests can learn all about animals such as lemurs, toucans, and kangaroos, there’s no shortage of cool things to check out.

Two especially popular activities guests won’t want to skip are the apple cannons and candy cannons. The apple cannon is an air-powered cannon that lets guests take aim at targets and blast apples out of a barrel at more than 50 mph. The candy cannon, on the other hand, is a massive cannon on the back of a truck that shoots out 80 pounds of candy at a time into the air. Needless to say, it’s a highlight with the kids.

With so much to do in the Central Texas area, it’s no wonder why so many people are moving to Kyle. If you’d like to know more about all this area has to offer and find a home that fits your family’s needs, reach out to us to learn more about the Crosswinds community.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: Kyle’s Top Coffee Shops

Iced coffee is something of an essential for caffeine addicts here in Central Texas where summer temperatures can easily soar well into the 90s. But let’s face it, fall is the best season when it comes to coffee.

With a return to cooler outdoor temps, so to do coffee shops return to seasonal autumn flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. From chains to local spots, these coffee shops are sure to put you in the fall spirit.

Black Rock Coffee Bar

Black Rock Coffee Bar is mostly found west of the Mississippi River, and it’s a shame because everyone on the East Coast is missing out on some fantastic drinks.

The coffee chain recently rolled out its fall menu, and by far, the standout is the Pumpkin Mexican Mocha. It combines everything great about pumpkin spice, but with a blend of chocolate and a little spice, it’s anything but basic.

Dutch Bros

Dutch Bros’ current seasonal menu has a few drinks that seem more like summer leftovers than fall favs (looking at you, Electric Berry Dirty Rebel and Double Rainbow Dirty Rebel). There are three drinks, however, that definitely take aim at autumn – the Caramel Apple Rebel, Cookie Butter Latte, and Caramel Pumpkin Brulee Breve.

If you’re craving some serious sweetness with your pumpkin spice, then go for the Caramel Pumpkin Brulee Breve, which is available hot or cold and comes topped with a salted caramel drizzle and raw sugar sprinkles.

Summer Moon

Summer Moon Coffee Shop is a national chain that uses a wood-fired roasting process for its beans, giving each cup a warm finish that is especially welcomed on a cool October morning.

The chain’s signature fall drink is the Autumn Moon Latte. This pumpkin spice latte is perfect for those coffee drinkers who enjoy a milder coffee drink that isn’t overbearing with sweetness yet doesn’t sacrifice the pumpkin flavor.

Kyle’s Daily Grind

If you’re all about supporting your local coffee shop (and you should be), then be sure to hit up Kyle’s Daily Grind. Located at 607 West Center Street, the coffee shop offers protein shakes, smoothies, muffins, kolaches, cinnamon rolls, and, of course, delicious coffee.

The cafe welcomed its fall lineup at the end of August with a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Pie Mocha, Pumpkin Spice Frappe, S’mores Latte, and Gingerbread Chai. If you’re having a hard time choosing which one to get, don’t worry; there’s still plenty of fall left to try all of them!

Starbucks

We’d be remiss if we didn’t throw out a mention to the chain that can arguably take credit for the pumpkin spice latte craze. There are four Starbucks locations in the Kyle area, so you’re never going to be far from grabbing a classic PSL.

Now, if you’re feeling adventurous, Starbucks also has on deck a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai. Yum.

There’s a lot to love about Kyle in the fall, and a warm pumpkin spice coffee is the perfect way to start the day. If you’d like to learn more about Kyle and finding your dream home in the master-planned Crosswinds community, reach out to us today.

Craft Breweries Near Kyle, Texas

The Texas Hill Country is the epicenter of craft brewing in Texas. In total, Craft Beer Austin counts 132 craft breweries in the area. Needless to say, a beer lover has no shortage of options when it comes to finding a local pint of beer.

Kyle residents are fortunate enough to have several craft breweries just a stone’s throw away.

Loan Man Mountain Brewing Company

Just 20 minutes from Kyle, beer fans will find Loan Man Mountain Brewing Company in nearby Driftwood. The brewery specializes in Belgian brewing traditions and is located on the property of Wimberley Valley Winery.

Thirsty patrons can swing by the tap room and pull up a seat at the bar Monday through Sunday from 10 to 6 PM. During warm weather, it’s also especially enjoyable to sit on the patio under the shade of the large oak trees.

The brewery offers a number of pilsners, ales, and porters on tap to sip on while enjoying one of the live music events or a bite from the food truck.

Vista Brewing

Also located in Driftwood, Vista Brewing is a self-described “destination brewery.” What does that mean exactly? More than simply a brewery crafting delicious beer, Vista aims to cultivate an environment of hospitality that spans 24 acres and includes an event space, a treehouse play area for the kiddos, and a restaurant. There are even plans to put in place a few cottages for lodging.

As for the beer, the brewery prides itself on using water from the limestone-filtered well on site to create pale ales, dark pilsners, and French-style saisons, all with a crisp, authentically Texas taste.

In addition to live music, Vista also has special events like pasta-making and painting classes.

Roughhouse Brewing

Kyle residents who head down the road 15 minutes to San Marcos will find Roughhouse Brewing housed in the towering barn. Inside what they’ll discover are some of the tastiest beers being made in Texas today. Since 2019, co-founders Alex and Davy Pasternak have been making a name for their brewery and racking up accolades like the Texas Craft Brewers Cup Gold Medal Winner, Best New Brewery, and a Brewery of the Year nomination.

Roughhouse specializes in ales, lagers, and cave-aged beers (yes, beer made in an actual cave) using yeast harvested from the nearby Pasternak Ranch. The brewery is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 to 9 PM and Sunday from 11 to 7 PM.

And because food always goes well with beer, the brewery, of course, offers a menu with chips and queso, nachos, and several sandwiches.

Middleton Brewing

Middleton Brewing, located in San Marcos, is a brewery that never gives off a vibe of taking itself too seriously. That’s not to say it doesn’t craft delicious beer – it certainly does – but it places equal importance on “building community, one beer at a time.”

Open Monday through Sunday, guests are treated to IPAs, kolschs, amber ales, porters, and special monthly releases. There are also plenty of picnic tables to chill at and enjoy a smash burger or play a game of giant Jenga.

Like any good brewery, Middleton Brewing also keeps a stacked calendar with trivia, live music, and open mics where anyone can take the stage.

This is only a small sampling of the breweries located less than a half-hour’s drive from Kyle. To learn more about Kyle and finding a home in the Crosswinds community, reach out to us today.
