ENF Technology Announces Plans to Build U.S. Headquarters in Kyle

The city of Kyle is known across the state of Texas for its business-friendly environment, affordable housing and high-quality schools, all of which continue to attract new business in Kyle, TX. Most notably, ENF provides electronic materials to Texas companies like Samsung, GlobalFoundries, Micro, Texas Instruments and Intel. This new location is expected to primarily serve Samsung Austin Semiconductor, which has been operating in Austin since 1997. ENF also sees the business-friendly environment and great workforce the city of Kyle is known for. Additionally, ENF Technology recognizes the affordable cost of living, award-winning schools and outstanding quality of life available in Kyle, TX for future employees.

Effects of This New Business in Kyle

The City of Kyle and Hays County Commissioners have approved a performance-based economic development agreement with ENF Technology for a five-year property tax rebate, beginning at 75% and declining by 10% each year. The investment ENF Technology is making in the Kyle community is expected to generate nearly $600,000 to the City of Kyle, over $400,000 to Hays County and more than $700,000 to Hays CISD by the end of the five-year agreement. Additionally, ENF Technology is expected to hire 45-50 people to operate the new headquarters, but the company could eventually employ 80.

Hays County officials and the city of Kyle are thrilled to welcome this new business to Kyle, TX! ENF Technology’s U.S. headquarters is expected to break ground in mid-2019 and open in 2020. Celebrate Easter in Kyle at the Easter Eggstravaganza

Are you on the hunt for egg-citing ways to celebrate Easter in Kyle with your family? Join the city of Kyle and Eikon Church on Saturday, April 13, for the largest Easter egg hunt Hays County has ever seen! The Easter Eggstravaganza will feature an egg drop, live music and fun for the whole family.

Egg Drops, and Hunts, and More, Oh My!

On Saturday, the festivities officially begin at 2 p.m. with the first egg drop but be sure to arrive early and secure your spot! There will be multiple drops for different age groups, as well as a smaller drop zone for toddlers and children in need of assistance. Before each hunt, the drop zone will be cleared, and eggs will be dropped from a hot air balloon. After all the eggs have landed safely on the grass, children will be released to collect their share of eggs! With over 80,000 eggs being dropped from a hot air balloon, the Easter Eggstravaganza in Kyle, TX is one of the largest Easter egg hunts in the area! 

Celebrating Easter in Kyle

In addition to the egg drops, the Easter Egg-stravaganza will feature inflatables, face painting and free carnival games. You and your little ones can also sing and dance along with the live DJ! Still haven’t gotten around to getting your children’s photos taken with the big white bunny? Rumor has it the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance, so don’t miss your chance to capture this memorable event! Did we mention this Easter celebration is FREE for the entire family? This year, the city of Kyle, TX has partnered with Eikon Church and the youth group will be selling drinks to raise money for their youth fundraiser. The event takes place on Saturday, April 13th, and kicks off at 1 p.m. Parking for the event will be available at Gregg-Clarke Park, Wallace Middle School and the Post Office. About Aviator Pizza and Drafthouse

Elgin-based Aviator Pizza and Drafthouse opened its third location in Kyle, TX this spring off of FM 1628 and Kohlers Crossing. The restaurant, which first opened its doors in 2014, also has a place in Austin’s South Congress neighborhood. Unique pizza offerings and some of the area’s best craft beer are available Sunday – Thursday from 11am – 9:30pm and Friday – Saturday from 11am – 11pm.

Specialty & Build Your Own Pizzas

The pizzeria sets itself apart with the pizza dough, it’s drizzled with pizza oil infused with rosemary. Each pie is topped with homemade pizza sauce and some of the area’s freshest ingredients. Popular specialty pizzas include the “South Austin,” made with prosciutto, goat cheese and arugula tossed in homemade honey balsamic vinaigrette, and “The Greek,” which features a pesto base, Kalamata olives, mushrooms, artichoke, feta and fresh basil. The doggy daycare, boarding and light grooming facility offers indoor and outdoor play for your pup, rain or shine. Starting this summer, The Boozy Bark will have a BYOB off-leash dog park where visitors can socialize and let their dogs play. St. Patrick’s Day Austin is a fantastic display of authentic Irish culture and pride. Come out and enjoy an array of Irish music, authentic food and refreshing drinks. A few of the musicians that will be playing throughout the day include Hightime, Realta and The Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums. Experience a Piece of Irish Culture

You and your family can also try your hand at learning Gaelic. The Gaelic League of Austin will be hosting a free language workshop! Kids of all ages are invited to sign up to participate in Bumper Ball Soccer, where they’ll attempt to play a game of soccer while in a protective bubble, or one of the various other kid-friendly activities of the day. Located on the square in Downtown San Marcos, Sean Patrick’s is the perfect place to spend your St. Patrick’s Day near Kyle, TX. Louie’s BBQ in Buda Relocated from Downtown Austin

In Texas, we take our barbecue very seriously, and we’re so excited to announce that a South Congress barbecue hot spot has made its way south of Austin. Louie’s BBQ in Buda opened in early 2019 near our master-planned community in Kyle. Here’s a bit more information on Louie’s and why we think it might be the best-kept barbecue secret in Austin.

About Louie’s BBQ

Run by husband and wife, Luis and Amy Vasquez, Louie’s BBQ in Buda was born out of a love for cooking and entertaining. Luis Vasquez was an insurance adjuster for more than 16 years before discovering his passion for food. After seven years of cooking for family and friends and two years of catering, Luis was able to purchase his trailer and open the BBQ joint to the public in 2017.

Moving to Buda, TX

The barbecue spot first opened at a place on South Congress Avenue, but in late 2018 Louie’s BBQ decided it was time to head south, to Buda, TX. Luis Vasquez felt the Austin trailer and barbecue scene were getting a bit saturated, and Saint Elmo Public Market is set to open at the same South Congress address in October. The owners were proactive about moving and saw an opportunity to help get Buda on the barbecue map.

 Mexican-BBQ Fusion

Louie’s BBQ in Buda has coined the phrase “Mexican-BBQ fusion,” and the menu is full of unique combinations coupled with traditional barbecue favorites. From the seasoned brisket coated in Louie’s signature rub to the tasty tacos and fresh street corn, each menu item is packed full of mouthwatering goodness. If they’re still available, Louie’s sensational stuffed potatoes are a crowd favorite, topped with signature brisket or pulled pork straight from the custom-built BBQ pit. If you love Louie’s BBQ and want it at your next event, you’re in luck because they cater.

Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos Now Open Near Crosswinds

Attention all beer lovers! We’re excited to announce that yet another brewery has just opened near our master-planned community in Kyle. While Crosswinds is in Kyle, TX, Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos is just a quick drive from our new homes near Austin. Here’s a little more information about this new brewery and their great beer.

About Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos

Located on 5 acres of a family ranch in San Marcos, this family-owned brewery serves refreshing, farmhouse-style beer. Founders Alex and Davy Pasternak appreciate the hard-working and straightforward way of life and have strived to create a beer that speaks to that lifestyle. Alex, who works on the sales and marketing side of the business, is captivated by a weathered and woody aesthetic and is working to make Roughhouse Brewing the rustic beer brand she has always envisioned. The brewery, complete with a tasting room inside a rustic barn, opened its doors in December 2018 and serves up cold brews Wednesdays from 12pm – 2pm, Thursdays & Fridays from 4pm – 9pm, Saturdays from 12pm – 9pm and Sundays from 12pm – 5pm.

The Cold Brews

The cold beer from Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos is a perfect compliment to the Texas backdrop – dry, oaky and earthy. The farmhouse ales are brewed using traditional techniques supported by modern equipment. Currently, the brewery is serving up four distinct brews, including a low-alcohol everyday ale, a rustic and hoppy IPA, a farmhouse amber and a dark saison. The farmhouse amber, called “ONA”, is named after Great Grandma Mary Pasternak and features hints of cherry – a nod to those that Mary used to grow in her garden. Beyond the Brews

Unique beer and beautiful views aren’t the only things showcased at Roughhouse Brewing in San Marcos. An onsite restaurant, S.
