Hop to the Top! 3 Easter Events Happening Near Crosswinds

Easter is just over a week away, and if you haven’t figured out what you and your family are going to do to celebrate the holiday, we’ve got you covered! Here are Crosswinds’ top three Easter events happening near our new homes in Kyle, TX.

We listed them in the order in which they’re happening, not in order of fun. We’ll leave that decision up to you!

Easter Egg Drop Extravaganza

When: Saturday, April 8
Where: San Marcos High School – San Marcos, TX
What Time: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Taking your traditional Easter egg hunt to a whole new level, the city of San Marcos will be dropping 75,000 Easter eggs from a helicopter for their Easter Egg Drop Extravaganza! There will be multiple drops for the different age groups, and there will also be plenty of other fun things to do like large inflatables and face painting.

Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Wednesday, April 12
Where: Gregg-Clarke Park – Kyle, TX
What Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Of all the Easter events this year, the Easter Eggstravaganza in Kyle has to be one of our favorites! Aside from egg hunts for kids ages 0 – 14 years old, there will also be free carnival games and plenty of photo ops with the Easter bunny.

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

When: Saturday, April 15
Where: Chick-fil-A of Kyle – Kyle, TX
What Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

What better way to kick off Easter than with a yummy breakfast and a chance to meet the Easter bunny? Hop on over and enjoy all the family fun activities at Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.

Crosswinds is an Official Sponsor of the 2017 Buda Wiener Dog Race

Every year Buda, Texas, the unlikely Wiener Dog Capital of the Lone Star State, puts on their annual County Fair and Wiener Dog Races! This will be their 20th year and our master-planned community is a sponsor this year! Here are some of the things you can expect from this family fun event.

20th Annual Buda Wiener Dog Races

This great event is basically a weekend-long overload of adorable dogs, family fun, live music and more!

When: Saturday, April 29 – Sunday, April 30
Where: Buda City Park
What Time: Saturday – 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM & Sunday – 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM 

As for the actual races, you can register your wiener dog or mixed breed dachshund the day of the race or register online. The Central Texas Dachshund Rescue is hosting the event and Crosswinds in Kyle, TX is excited about being a sponsor this year.

Best Dressed Dog Contest

Just because your dog doesn’t have any dachshund in them, that doesn’t mean you can’t bring them along for all the fun! They don’t have to race, because they can still participate in the best-dressed dog contest as well as the opening pet parade!

If you want to win the best-dressed dog contest, we’d recommend making sure your pooch is all decked out from nose to tail. Throw on a little hat, maybe even some stylish shoes, and you’ll give the other dogs a run for their bones.

Food, Food and More Tasty Food

Finally, no great Texas festival would be complete without food! Not only will there be local vendors selling some tasty morsels, there will also be a bake-off, barbecue cook-off and chili cook-off. Don’t miss out on your chance to dig into some of the most delicious eats in the Hill Country.

SXSW 2017 is only days away and we cannot wait! Every year, Austin hosts this unforgettable festival filled with music, film, interactive and many networking opportunities. With so much to see and do in 10 days, it can be overwhelming! Crosswinds in Kyle, Texas is sharing the top 4 events you should attend while at SXSW.

1. Buzz Aldrin

With St. Patrick’s Day just a couple of weeks away, it’s time to start making plans for how you’re going to celebrate! If you’re in Kyle, Texas, there are plenty of fun festivities that’ll be happening all around our master-planned community! 1. St. Patrick’s Day Austin

The biggest blow out of green and gold and Irish spirit in Austin, the city’s St. Patrick’s Day festival is quite the spectacle. Head out to Pioneer Farms in Austin from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm to enjoy all they have to offer. There will be plenty of live music and other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

2. St. Patrick’s Day at The Dog & Duck Pub
